Fourth grade recorder choir |
We are very proud of our rigorous music curriculum at RSAA! The K-8th grade music program follows the National Music Standards as well as the Ohio Department of Education Music Standards. We believe in active music making and experiencing music in a every way possible. We also believe in introducing our students to a diverse repertoire of music!
The fourth grade class has an opportunity to be a part of an Recorder/Orff Ensemble where they will also learn how to improvise sing and play on multiple instruments! The fifth graders study musical instruments and they participate in a world music project where we study music from different cultures. We have even had a group from India come to visit and experienced the Indian Culture through their music! We have had many guest performers and artists visit the music department! The fourth and fifth graders also put on a concert every year called Mallet Madness!! "Music is the manifestation of the human spirit, similar to language. Its greatest practitioners have conveyed to mankind things not possible to say in any other language. If we do not want these things to remain dead treasures, we must do our utmost to make the greatest possible number of people understand their idiom."
