Summary of most recent learning:
Along with actively developing our singing voices,
2nd grade students have recently been working on rhythm reading and
dictation. The students are working on melodic reading and dictation using the solfege syllables "so", "mi" and "la". We have been singing MANY so-mi-la songs and have practiced reading and writing them on the staff.
We are also constantly singing and moving. As far as rhythm, we have been
working with quarter notes ("ta"), eighth notes ("ti-ti"), and quarter
rests ("rest") and half notes "two").
